In the Villany wine region portugieser is a standard variety in every cellar and winery. Vylyan’s Portugieser’s name is Macska (Cat), because in the ‘Legend of the devilplowed hill’ it is represented by the cat.
We couldn’t live everyday life without it. A thirst-quenchingly fruity, friendly and easygoing wine that ‘purrs’ and flatters – a wine that feels good to drink daily! The varietal-specific red berries on the nose are rounded off by a combination of sour cherry, plum, and sloe on the palate. Its tannins are soft and velvety.

“It is a good match with lighter Hungarian dishes, fish for example, and Italian starters and pastas.”

Vinification: In accordance with the characteristics ofthe variety,in order to highlight vivid fruitiness,the harvested grapes werekept with the skin for a brief period of 10-11days,at the temperature of 25-26 °C. Malolactic fermentation,and then maturation also took place in tanks.
