Dobogó – Furmint

Spring started early in 2017 but unusual freezing days arrived in the second part of April. The weather conditions were varying from heat waves to rainfalls all summer until mid-September. The warm days in the first part of October resulted in the forming of beautiful Aszú berries in 2017. We harvested the grapes for our dry Furmints in mid-October. After the gentle processing of the grape, the wine was fermented and aged in two secondly filled Hungarian oak casks for 10 months. The first impression was of morning sunshine the colour of straw. Freshly cracked flint on the nose, the salty sea breeze and the ripening lemons in the Winery’s garden come to mind. A rich dry Furmint which is a perfect reflection of the 2017 Vintage.
