Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping

  • Where does Vinotek.hu deliver wines?

Currently, we can ship to Austria, Germany. Soon we would like to expand our business to the Netherlands, Belgium, and other European countries.

  • How do you ship my ordered items?

We ship with DPD’s wine logistics solution. All bottles are packed into a folded cardboard box and placed into a shipment solution. Each bottle is fixed at its neck so the bottles can’t move during the shipment. During our operation in 2021 and 2022, there was no broken bottle.

  • How much do I need to wait till I get my bottles?

For our standard products (where there is no “6 bottles only” badge on the product picture), we can guarantee a 3-5 working days delivery time. However, in many cases, our shipping partner, DPD, can deliver in two working days. For other products, the delivery time can go up to 12-14 working days since we need to arrange the shipping not only to the customers’ place but also from the winery to our hub.

  • I want to send my bottles to a temporary living address (hotel, apartment)? Is it feasible?

As long as the given shipping address is in Austria or Germany, or Denmark, DPD will ship to your given address your desired bottles. Please keep in mind our shipping durations (3-5 working days for regular bottles and 13-15 working days for wines we need to get from wineries).

  • How can I track my orders?

After we dispatch a package, we send our customers a DPD tracking code. You can track the status of your order by using DPD’s tracking page.

  • How do we choose our partner wineries?

We have a few principles that we follow:

    1. We pick wineries from regions famous for longstanding, high-quality wine production. So we decided to establish business relations with wineries from Tokaj, Villány, Eger, Szekszárd, Balaton, Somló and Pannonhalma wine regions. Soon we would like to pick wineries from Sopron, Mór, and Etyek too.
    2. We prefer to work with wineries that cultivate and promote Hungarian wine varieties and wine styles or international varieties with distinctive characteristics. In terms of varieties, these are: Furmint, Kékfrankos, Olaszrizling, Hárslevelű, Kadarka, Juhfark, Cabernet Franc (Villányi Franc) or aromatic white wines. In terms of styles: Tokaji and Bikavér (Bull’s Blood), Bordeaux-like blends where Cabernet Franc plays a prominent role, Hungarian rosé wines, and aromatic white wines.
    3. Quality and consistency are also important aspects. Our wineries selection doesn’t change too much in terms of varieties, and they work with established brands. They achieve excellent quality every year for the same brand, or if the year was not so generous to wine growers and the circumstances don’t allow them to produce a given brand.
