Szekszárd wine region’s grape varieties (2019)
Red grapes are around 1930 ha, represents 85% of the total vineyard area. The most important red grape varieties are:
- Kékfrankos – 660 hectars
- Merlot – 385 hectars
- Cabernet Franc – 254 hectares
- Cabernet Sauvignon – 251 hectares
- Kadarka – 81 hectares
White grapes are around 345 ha, represents 15% of the total vineyard area. Most important ones:
- Olaszrizling
- Chardonnay
- Cserszegi fűszeres
- Királyleányka.
