The Villány Wine Region is the southernmost wine-producing region in Hungary, where spring comes early, and grapes in the vineyards ripen in plentiful sunshine. Autumn frequently includes an indian summer. The southern slopes of this East-West range have a unique micro-climate.
The wines of the Villány Wine Region are considered by experts, consumers, and the Hungarian wine market to be both of excellent quality and commercial success. Hungary’s first full-origin protection system was developed here, symbolized by the unique Hungarian Crocus plant, which can only be found on the south slope of Szársomlyó hill. The plant signifies the protection and authenticity of Villány wines.
“Cabernet Franc is an excellent variety, but from now on, Villányi Franc is an expression!” Cabernet Franc is one of those global varieties which rarely appears alone, however, this is not so in the Villány wine region, where it has found its natural home. Thanks to the wine region’s unique location, climate, and creative winemakers, the premium and super-premium wines made from Cabernet Franc are now known as Villányi Franc. In this elegant wine, we salute the top product of this wine region.
