At Wine Enthusiast every year, thousands of wines are put into the glasses. At the end of each year, a list of the 100 favourite wines of the year is compiled. 2022 was no different. In this year one wine of our partner winery – Royal Tokaji‘s Szent Tamás 6 puttonyos aszú has made the list of 100.
The Royal Tokaji Szent Tamás Aszú 6 puttonyos 2017 received 99 out of a possible 100 points!
Based on the score alone, it could have finished even higher, however the editorial team ranked it 19th on the list. Just by the points we can tell that it was the best wine since there was no wine with 100 points and there was no other wine with 99 points.
Here is Wine Ethusiast’s tasting note: “This wine comes from one of Tokaji’s most famous vineyards. Light amber in colour, with honeyed aromas of honeysuckle, freesia, beeswax and honey. On the palate, it has a pleasant body and intense flavours of preserved peaches, clover honey and tinned apricots. This is a well-made and balanced wine that finishes sweet and makes you want to keep sipping and sipping. Drink now until 2050.”
In the history of the prestigious international wine magazine since 1988, few wines have been as successful as this Hungarian wine.
Wine Enthusiast was founded in 1979 by two wine experts. The New York-based company’s magazine of the same name was launched in 1988. Since then, it has grown to become one of the most respected wine magazines in the world.
